Heather Stefanson, Premier, Province of Manitoba; Obby Khan, MLA, Fort Whyte; Pauline Clarke, Chief Superintendent, Winnipeg School Division; Michelle Namaka, Principal, Queenston School; and Brody Jackson, host, QX 104 FM today kicked-off the 11th annual Cool 2Be Kind campaign in front of over 170 nursery to grade six students at Queenston School.     14TH ANNUAL MANITOBA MOTORCYCLE RIDE FOR DAD RAISES NEARLY $350,000 IN THE FIGHT AGAINST PROSTATE CANCER

    WINNIPEG, MB: Today, the Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad (MRFD) celebrated its 14TH Ride and attracted over 1,000 registered riders. The record of 1,547 riders set in 2019 is safe for another year. Funds raised from today’s Ride will total close to $350,000 bringing the 14-year fundraising total to over $3.2 million dollars. Proceeds stay in Manitoba for prostate cancer research and education. Read More

    WPA 50/50 winner the Winnipeg Police Credit Union represented by CEO Cal Berzuk, receives a $46,282.50 cheque (50% of money raised) from Moe Sabourin and Jeremy Cull of the Winnipeg Police Association. Cal then donates the entire amount back to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba represented by Kathryn McBurney for a total of $92,565.00! Read More

    Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba (CHFM) Champion Child Brady Bobrowich, and CEO, Stefano Grande, accepts a $45,000 cheque from Winnipeg Police Association president Moe Sabourin (second right) – proceeds from the 2019 WPA Charity Ball. On hand for the presentation was Brady’s sister Brooke (left), mom Corinne and father Brad (right). This brings the total raised from North America’s longest running Policeman’s Ball to $695,000. Winnipeg Police Association

The Winnipeg Police Athletic Association (WPAA) became the Winnipeg Police Association (WPA) March 16, 1972 in advance of the Unicity amalgamation of 1974. At that time, all police associations in the Greater Winnipeg area became members of the newly minted WPA.

COOL 2BE KIND

The Cool 2Be Kind campaign is an initiative of the Winnipeg Police Association and focuses on teaching youth in grades K-8 the value of being kind. This positive behavior initiative outlines the benefits of being kind to others and making good choices in school and in life. Application deadline is December 31, 2022.
